Route : Trivandrum, Kovalam, Varkala, Alleppey, Kumarakom, Periyar, Munnar, Cochin, Silent Valley, Calicut, Wayanad, Kasargode, Gokarna, Goa.

1) Fly to Trivandrum, (Kovalam).
"Kovalam" means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. The crescent-shaped beach has three parts. The southern most beach, and the most popular, is light house beach. It offers an amazing sight of Vizhinjam mosque. The northern Samudra is a laidback one and time seems stands still here. The middle, hawah, in the early day, is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea. With a high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, this beach paradise creates a unique aquarelle on moonlit nights.

2) Kovalam Beach to Varkala Beach

Varkala is the only place in southern Kerala where one can find cliffs adjacent to the Arabian sea. These tertiary sedimentary formation cliffs are a unique geological feature in the otherwise flat Kerala coast, and is known among geologists as Varkala Formation and a geological monument as declared by the Geological survey of India. There are numerous water spouts and spas on the sides of these cliffs.

3) Varkala to Alleppey

Alappuzha also known as Alleppey, is a town in Alappuzha District of Kerala state of southern India. A town with picturesque canals, backwaters, beaches, and lagoons, it was described as the List of places known as Venice of the East by Lord Curzon.

4) Alleppey to Kumarakom

Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit. TheVembanad Lake, the largest backwater in Kerala, is habitat for many marine and freshwater fish species and it teems with 'Karimeen' (Pearl Spotted Fish), shrimp (chemmeen in the local language) and prawns. The bird sanctuary extends over 14 acres (57,000 m²), and came into existence following preservation efforts from the government. It is a major tourist attraction.

5) Kumarakom to Periyar

The Periyar Widlife sanctuary is spread across 777 km² (300 sq. miles), of which 360 km² (139 sq. miles) is thick evergreen forest. The Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attraction of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake.
Thekkady is considered a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove.

6) Periyar Relax

7) Periyar to Munnar

8) Munnar Relax

From the bottommost curves, as you will drive upto Munnar, you will see thousands of hectares of lush, manicured tea fields forming an irresistible canvas of green. Proud eucalyptus plantations, which fuel the tea factories in the vicinity, swaying gently in the wind only add to the beauty of the landscape. And shola trees hug the mist-sheeted hill-sides, housing varied and no doubt, many endangered species of wildlife. Trek through the green gardens and if lucky, you can even spot a pack of wild elephants, play a round of golf in the afternoon and engage your evenings doing some leisure fishing before lazing by the bonfire in the night and sipping a cup of fine Malayali tea. Don't forget to pay a visit to the nearby tea factories - engaged in producing one of the best flavours in the world using simple and archaic techniques. One can also visit the nearby tea museum, housing an interesting array of relics and artifacts from the past as well as several historic photographs and pieces of period furniture. Run by Tata Tea, this museum surely provides an insightful and educative experience to a layman.

9) Munnar to Cochin

Kochi was the centre of Indian spice trade for many centuries, and was known to the Yavanas (Greeks) as well as Romans, Jews, Arabs, and Chinese since ancient times.
10) Cochin Relax

11) Cochin to Silent Valley

The Silent Valley ecosystem comprises of 8,952 hectares of forestland on the Nilgiris plateau closed on all sides by mountains of the Western Ghats, some as high as 2000 metres. It is an “ecological island” with a relatively undisturbed evolutionary history of at least 50 million years manifested in a high degree of floral and faunal endemism. Rare, endangered and new biological species continue to be discovered from the Silent Valley National Park.

12) Silent Valley to Calicut

In the year 1498 Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama landed at Kappad, about 25 km from Calicut city. This was a major event in the era of European Discoveries, because the discovery of the sea route from Europe to India gave the Portuguese a significant advantage in the control of international trade that lasted for almost a century.

13) Calicut to Wayanad

14) Wayaand Relax

Wayanad district stands on the southern top of the Deccan plateau and its chief glory is the majestic Western ghats with lofty ridges interspersed with dense forest, tangled jungles and deep valleys, the terrain is rugged. Quite a large area of the district is covered by forest but the continued and indiscriminate exploitation of the natural resources point towards an imminent environmental crisis.

15) Wayanad to Kasargode Beach

Kasargod Municipal Town is situated on the banks of the Chandragiri River and Arabian Sea. Arecanuts, Copra, Cashewnuts, Rubber and Pepper are the important commodities transported from here. Kasargod Cap is famous and it is the main means of lively hood of a large number of Muslims. It is exporting to many African countries.

The Gokarna beach forms the coast of the town while the other four beaches lies towards the south of Gokarna. Kudle and Om are around 6 km from Gokarna town along a muddy hill; they are accessible by rickshaw or foot. Half moon and Paradise are beyond Om beach and are accessible only by foot or boat. Om beach is named because it's shaped like the auspicious ॐ [Om] symbol. Om beach is the only naturally Om shaped beach. Two other beaches Paradise and Half Moon are smaller and remote beaches.

18) Gokarna Beach Relax

19) Gokarna to Goa

From the late sixties, visitors to Goa have headed for the two main beach strips: Calangute in the north and Colva in south Goa. These are the best known and in fact part of longer, continuous beaches.
Calangute for example is towards the northern end of the five kilometre stretch that starts at Fort Aguada and includes Sinquerim, Candolim, then Calangute and Baga.
Similarly, Colva is in the centre of the 20-km southern stretch, the longest in Goa, which starts from Velsao and ends at Mobor, embracing several village names along the way.
